Paris and Tokyo are juggernauts when it comes to all things culture. From fashion and food, to technology and music, these two cities have historically set the bar for the rest of the world to follow. Thanks to Japanese sneaker-staple, ASICS and French-media platform, Unrated, Paris and Tokyo are bridging the gap yet again through a new project titled, WAVES, to which we provided the branding for.

WAVES will be an ongoing event that will take place in the basement of the ASICS House Paris, and will serve to promote the next wave of Japanese artists to the French capital by transforming this space into a temple where Japanese musicians, singers, producers and rappers will regularly be invited to spread their creative visions.

We designed the logo, color palette and identity system to carry symbolic cues from the history of Japanese graphic design; from the early illustrative style of Japanese matchboxes to that of minimally evocative typography.

WAVES will launch on October 12, as Japanese multi-instrumentalist, starRo will perform his unique blend of electro, funk, and R’n’B alongside a visual lighting instillation provided by studio, ExperiensS.
