DEW TOUR LONG BEACH

Skateboarding has always been an integral part for many of us over here at National Forest. When Mountain Dew came inquiring about a project for their Dew Tour competition in Long Beach, we initially thought it would be a set of quirky designs that would be printed on some tees and billboards. Little did we know, we would be designing an entire skatepark!

With the help of the good folks over at Rampworks, we did just that. A park with custom-built sculptures which we designed and hand-painted to the very last drop. The “Sculpture Garden” as it was later dubbed, served to welcome both the general public and the Dew Tour participants, who could enjoy skating the park free of charge.

From the swerving snake and sunglass rail to the towering mouth and palm tree ramp, skaters of all sizes and skillsets shredded it up under the So Cal sunshine in a weekend long celebration of all things skate.

It was great to blend the worlds of art and skate in further broadening the horizon of both fields. The finished sculptural pieces have also been relocated into Silverado Park, a local Long Beach skatepark where kids can continue to enjoy skating them for the years to come.
